The Wanneroo Rotary Club was founded 48 years ago in 1971, its first meeting was on 23 June that year.
Doyens of the Wanneroo area joined the Club over the years, think Backshall; Cockman; Conti; Cousins; Crisafulli; Duffy; Hamilton; Jeffrey; Johnson; Lullfitz; Marinovich; Marwick; Nanovich; Tarbox; Villanova, to name but a few. 
Since its inception, the Wanneroo Club has punched above its weight in terms of fundraising, it continues to do so.  Rotary Park and the Heritage Wall in the Wanneroo Townsite; the Dolphin Wishing Well at Hillarys Marina are two very visible reminders of this Club’s efforts. Many schools in the Wanneroo region have and continue to receive funding from this, small in number but huge in fundraising and generosity, club.
In addition to funding local and State projects, Wanneroo Rotary has funded many projects in our near international region.  In January 2019, 240 children’s wheelchairs plus, plus, plus were shipped to the Thai/Burma border, ensuring a better life for those youngsters who cannot walk.
